Pastor: Mark Weaver

Mark Weaver is the Senior Pastor of New Hope Church. He was born to the son of a military pastor and was raised in what he believed was a wonderful Christian home; but by age 10, that Christian home began to unravel as his father's life began to fall apart. By age 12, he had abandoned our family for the most part. It was at this point in his life that he began to ask if God really did exist, and if Jesus really did love him. Shortly thereafter, the Lord began to actively work in his life in a mighty way. It was at this time that he gave up the faith of his childhood, the faith of his peer group, and received his own personal faith in Christ.
In 1981, he married his wonderful wife, Cindy and he had three precious children; Rebecca, Jennifer, and Mark. He entered into the ministry at the age of 20 as youth pastor at Christ Memorial. In 1984 the Lord led him to start a ministry called Citizens Against Pornography, which later became known as the American Family Association of Texas. He led a crusade in Texas on family values for seven years. His faith grew tremendously during those years as they faced obstacles of all sizes. He was threatened many times, and even had a gun placed to his head by the manager of a porn shop in Waco, Texas. God used those seven years to train him to trust Him for all things. In 1991. He entered back into the ministry at New Hope. As a shepherd of this church he devoted to caring for God's people. Jesus came for those who were sick and in need of a physician. New Hope is a home for people of all kinds of backgrounds - different races, different denominations, different economical standing. We love each other, and are committed to seeing Christ formed in each other according to Eph. 4:11-16
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
We are a growing family of love here at New Hope and I would simply invite you to come and worship with us if you do not already have a place to worship. Most importantly know that, in Christ Jesus you and I have a marvelous "HOPE".
Youth Pastor: Dominic Valerio

Dominic Valerio is the Youth Pastor at New Hope Church. He grew up in El Paso, TX., and was the youngest of three brothers and two sisters. At an early age he became involved in drugs and started dealing while in high school. By his senior year, he was a burnout and one day found himself in the hospital staring in the face of a doctor who was telling him that he could be dying. It was there, in that room, that he was faced with the reality that he would be spending eternity in Heaven or Hell. And because of the life he was living, it would be Hell. PRAISE BE TO GOD! Through some tough circumstances God showed him that it wasn’t how bad he was that was going to send him to Hell. It was not how good he was that would get him into Heaven. It was by the blood of Christ and the grace that He extends through Him.
Dominic has been married for 13 years and have three beautiful children, Zachary, Madison, Dominique, and Haley. He has been the Youth Director for five years at New Hope Church and has loved every day of it.
His life verse would be: Gal. 2:20 -
“For I have been Crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself up for me"
